Immigration cost recovery fees are established by Citizenship and Immigration Canada
and are based on Canadian dollars. At Canadian High Commissions, Embassies and Consular
Offices outside of Canada the fee can be paid in either Canadian Dollars or in the
local currency at an equivalent rate as determined by the Bank of Canada. As a result,
the fees that are paid in Sri Lankan Rupees will be adjusted whenever the difference
between the Canadian Dollar and the Sri Lankan Rupee varies by more than 5%.
Payment by certified cheque or bank draft in either Sri Lankan Rupees or Canadian
Dollars must be made payable to "High Commission of Canada." Certified cheques
or bank drafts in Canadian Dollars ONLY may also be made payable to "The Receiver
General for Canada." All certified cheques and bank drafts must be valid for at
least four (4) months from the date of receipt. Payment by certified cheque or bank
draft can be submitted in person at TT Services office.
We do not accept personal cheques, credit cards or cash.
